Twelve months of screen graphics, holograms and VFX for season two of National Geographic's MARS, with Framestore.

Layer83 returned to Framestore for the second season of National Geographic's docu-drama MARS, joining the production at the start of the project in May 2017 — on set in Budapest and in Framestore's London studio.

The project ran for twelve months across pre- and post-production. We led a small design team delivering on-set playback graphics for seven sets in four distinct UI styles. Alongside the 2D screen graphics, the team built 3D design assets including full 3D holograms, and composited and tracked a number of VFX shots for Framestore's TV VFX team.
